The drummer from System of a Down (WAKE UP!), won an auction for the very first comic book featuring Superman. There is said to only be about 100 copies remaining, and dude won this copy for over $317,000. It was first published in 1938 and sold for 10 cents. If you're not into comics, this is like the holy grail for nerds and uber cool kids like me. I dont even like Superman, but one has to respect what the man represents.
Another rare comic that is up for auction is All-Negro Comics #1, which is said the be the first comic created by and for African Americans. Im not posting this to be racist, I just think that its crazy to see how far this country has come from a time that wasnt that long away. I mean the main character's name was Ace Harlem! The comic only lasted one issue and was published in 1947. The issue up for auction is the only known copy.
