Google Maps Kills
Posted by Tim Young at 4:46 PM
Have you ever used the street view feature of Google Maps? It's pretty sweet, if you havent used it before it basically works like this. Google has an arsenal of vans that roam everywhere you can think of and they take pictures of the surroundings the whole time. When you enter an address in Google Maps you can click on street view and it will show what that location actually looks like. Now street view has been under some controversy because its cameras can be used to look into people's houses, its caught people doing things that they probably shouldnt, and today they caught themselves doing something they probably wish no one had seen. It seems that one of the Google vans hit a baby deer (fawn?) that ran into the street and it was all caught on camera. Unfortunately Google took down all the images due to "high levels of traffic" but they're probably just trying to sweep it under the rug. Here is the only remaining picture of the carnage.
