Designer Sang-Kyun Park, has a concept umbrella that uses the piezoelectric effect of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) to turn falling rain drops into electricity which then powers LED lights built into the umbrella. Yeah, I dont understand what any of that means either, but it sounds really awesome. The harder it rains on top of the umbrella, the brighter it will light up. I say that this needs to come out now, just because of its awesomeness, so lets hope some investors make it rain...
