Ok, normally everything on here is funny (to me anyways) or sexy (Megan Fox) or just a waste of time (everything else) but here is a video that deserves to be watched and taken seriously.
This is an AIDS infected cell taking over a healthy cell, a process that spreads the AIDS virus throughout the body. It is the first time that it has ever been recorded and scientists are hoping that seeing this will help someone to create some sort of cure for the devastating virus. Here is a quote to accompany the vid:
"The study was made possible after experts created a molecular clone of infectious HIV and inserted a protein into its genetic code which glows green when exposed to blue light.
They noted that when an infected cell came into contact with a healthy one, a bridge was created between them, called a virological synapse.
"We should be developing vaccines that help the immune system recognise proteins involved in virological synapse formation and antiviral drugs that target the factors required for synapse formation."
This thing is no joke, it literally grabbed that healthy cell had its way with it. I really hope that someday we come up with a cure, because even the science behind AIDS is scary.
